 Biography

Paul Bush was born in London in 1956. He studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and began making films in 1978 after joining the London Film-makers Co-op. From 1981 to 1993 he taught film making, establishing a 16mm film workshop in South London and supervising a wide variety of courses and the production of numerous student films. Since 1995 he has been teaching on the visual arts course at Goldsmiths.
Most of his work has been commissioned for broadcast but he has also made films for arts organisations and the commercial sector. His background in Fine Arts remains an influence on his work which crosses the boundaries between fiction, documentary and animation. His films have been shown in festivals, exhibitions and on television all over the world.

They have been screened at Art and Animation  at the ICA and are participating in Animate and Fascinate,  an exhibition at the Collins Gallery, Glasgow and touring Scotland. They have been shown on theatrical release in the UK at the Ritzy, Phoenix, Tricycle and David Lean cinemas, London and The Cameo, Edinburgh and at various screenings in Tokyo, Montreal, London and Manchester.

They have been broadcast on Channel 4 UK, Cinefil Imegica Japan and SVT Sweden and they can be seen in the permanent collections of The Georges Pompidou Centre, Paris, The Kunstmuseum, Bonn and the Audio Visual Lihrary of Hiroshima.
