ASIFA was ”born” in Annecy in 1960.  During 2010-11 we celebrated our 50^th Anniversary, making us the oldest international organization supporting the art of animation. Past President Raoul Servais served as the Honorary President for the anniversary, and we were honored at many festivals and national events.

ASIFA compiled, wrote and published a 50^th Anniversary book, a gift to all international members during the Anniversary year.  This project was coordinated by Ed Desroches, book editor.

The 250 page hard-cover book, 50^th ASIFA ANNIVERSARY: The Animation Art and The History of ASIFA is lavishly illustrated, and includes sections on activities, chapters, festivals, and the past, present and future of ASIFA.
