In 2008, 41 countries and states celebrated International Animation Day : In Africa : Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Republic of Guinea, South Africa. In America : Argentina, Brazil, United States (California, Colorado, Michigan, Georgia, Maryland, Virginia). In Asia : China, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Russia In Europe : Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, Hungary, Sweden, Russia, Portugal, Estonia, Italy, Poland, Greece, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Romania, Russia. In Oceania : Vanuatu Islands and Australia

Several countries have significantly developed the celebration and extended it to several cities and several days, especially in Brazil, India and France, but also Portugal and Sweden.

The participation in the IAD is relatively simple and therefore attracts various types of participants: ASIFA groups but also festivals and cultural structures are invited to screen animated films, organise workshops, exhibit artwork and stills, provide technical demonstrations … in a word, the event helps to promote the art of animation around the official date, the 28th of October.

In 2005, a system of program exchanges was created to help participants put together culturally diverse animation programs from around the world. It is an incredible opportunity to discover films from all over the world during this great international animation celebration.

41 countries were represented in IAD 2009.

A committee composed of ASIFA¹s representatives will be mandated to select the movies and decide of their admission in the final contest. The seleted movies will be submitted to a public vote. The three movies that obtain the highest vote will be showcased online for one year on Toon Boom’s website (a link will also be available from the ASIFA website and it’s various chapters). Movies will also be screened in different cities during the evening celebrating the International Animation Day on October 28th, 2007.

L’ASIFA (Association internationale du film d’animation) et Toon Boon Animation Inc. annoncent aujourd’hui le lancement du Concours international d’animation pour internet, ouvert à tous les esprits créatifs à travers le monde. Le concours est ouvert jusqu’au 24 septembre 2007 et fait un appel aux courts métrages de moins de 2 minutes sur le thème “Réchauffement climatique”.

From October 10 to 15^th, at the French Cultural Centre, will hold the “Festival des toiles animées”, with a retrospective of French animated features, Enzo d’Alo’s features, “District” by Aron Gauder, African animated short films and a conference about animation in Africa with Nigerian filmmaker Mustapha Alassane and Monica Blanc-Gomez from Veemem Films, animation producer in Burkina Faso and artistic director of the festival.

KENYA (Nairobi)

October 29^th, Lola Kenya Screen will organise a special animation screening, during the 19th Lola Kenya Screen Film Forum at Goethe-Institut, Nairobi.

The Franco-Mozambican Cultural Centre will provide a three weeks workshop to all the professionals or amateur interested, to discover animation techniques with the French animator Vivian Altman. Buenos Aires

The ACAA (ASIFA Argentina) will celebrate International Animation Day November 9^th, to commemorate the nineteenth birthday of the screening in Buenos Aires of the first animated long feature film of the world., produced here in Argentina in 1917, by Quirino Cristiani.

The ACAA will hold an homage to the filmmaker, organizing meetings and interviews with professionals and amateurs and screening of shorts and long feature animated films, during three Days: November 9 , 10 and 11, in Buenos Aires, at the DaVinci Multimedia Art School and at the Rojas Cultural Centre.

French Cultural Centre and Fenix Art association will organise, on the 28th October, the AFCA-ASIFA France program Showcase and a retrospective of the Serbian film director Vere Vlajic, will be screened. CROATIA (Zagreb)

November 3^th, ASIFA Croatia, will present “The Day of Croatian Animation” and will be held in the movie theatre in the Centre of Zagreb. The programs will be : works by children and young adults 2006/2007, student films, professional Croatian Animation 2006/2007, special Award for the Contribution to Croatian Animation – screening of films by the laureate and award-giving ceremony and party.

The Jury, composed of three members (film director, animator, film critic) will decide about the prizes. Grand Prix, First and Second Prize include the cash awards.

Beside this event dedicated to the Croatian animation the ASIFA Croatia will organise the screenings in Zagreb Film Club, presenting ASIFA Japan and ASIFA Korea programs.

CZECH REPUBLIC (Prague)

From the 10^th to the 30^th October, the National Film Archive in Prague will present three programs in the archival cinema Ponrepo and the next program in Bratislava like as in last years. The first screening on the 10^th will be dedicated Jiri Trnka and Jiri Brdecka anniversary. The second one “New Slovak Aimated Films“ on the 23^rd was composed in co-operation with the Biennial of Animation Bratislava. And the third one, on the 29^th celebrated Jiri Brdecka anniversary as an important creator of Czech animated film. The last screening “Czech Fairy-tailes in Czech Animated Film“ on the 30^th in Bratislava is prepared by the Biennial of Animation Bratislava in co-operation with NFA. Between October 24^th to 28^th, Animatrick Festival, in collaboration with ASIFA Finland, will celebrate International animation day. The Finnish Film Archive will have a special screening on the 28th with the feature “Cute little Maruko” by Tsutomu Shibayama and at least ten short films by the Quay brothers. Furthermore there will be many smaller workshops but one of our most exciting projects will be on Saturday the 27th. We are getting animators together in the centre of Helsinki in the morning. An animation (pixilation) will be shot with as many people we can get together, the film will be edited and the soundtrack added in the afternoon so we can screen it in the evening at the Animatricksfestival club. The festival will also present a best of the Nordic and Baltic animation and of New Finish animation and hold a Dutch animation retrospective and a tribute to Reino Niiniranta, father of Finish silhouette animation.

From October 17 to 30^th , France will celebrate animation all over the country, including Martinique and Reunion islands. Jean-François Laguionie will be the guest of honour, travelling in 14 different cities to present his films. Other guests will be Serge Elissalde, Florence Miailhe, Michel Ocelot, Raoul Servais, Priit Pärn, Sébastien Laudenbach, Jean-Jacques Prunès, etc. in different regions of France and 15 different Deutsch animators and producers for a big retrospective in Centre Georges Pompidou (Beaubourg) in Paris. 28^th of October will be celebrate in Beaubourg, with a screening dedicated to Jean-François Laguionie. Michel Ocelot, Mathilde Philipon-Aginski, Hoël Caouissin, Izu Troin and Florence Miailhe will be invited to chose one film of their choice to offer to the famous filmmaker.

The celebration will also be the occasion to have screenings, conferences, exhibitions, workshops, retrospective, including a Shanghai Animation Studios retrospective in Paris (more than 30 films).

To celebrate 2007 International Animation Day, Syllipsis publications inaugurate a flipbook series by the title “Pocket Cinema”, starting with the release of the 1st flipbook ever made in Greece that combines cartoon and pixillation technique. The flipbook created by cartoonist and author Aristarchos Papadaniel is entitled “Syllipsi” and features a cartoon character named Telis.

On October 27^th Ianos Bookshop in Athens will held a screening of the first Greek animation movie entitled “Dutse Recalls” (1945) directed by famous caricaturist Stamatis Polenekis. Original score (2006) by composer Dimitris Maramis.

On October 28^th on “902 Aristera sta FM” radiostation Aristarchos Papadaniel is invited by singer Thanasis Chouliaras and songwriter Fanis Margaronis (members of “Ftino Evelikto Mousiko Dinamiko (FEMD)” band to their broadcast entitled “Aorati Klosti” (“Invisible Thread”) to make a 2hour tribute to songs and music in animation movies and TV series (starting from late ’20s since nowadays).

HUNGARY

Asifa Hungary will organize celebration in 9 places, 4 cinemas, in art schools, in the capital of Hungary, in the city of Debrecen and in three other cities of Transilvania, altogether 73 screenings. There will be screenings of ASIFA-Korea, ASIFA-Japan, New Chinese films, AFCA-ASIFA-France programs and films of La Poudriere School, Black and Night film festival in Estonia, ReAnimajcia Festival in Poland, ASIFA Hungary and ASIFA Iran. And also screenings of the films of the Hungarian masters (Gyula Macskássy, György Kovásznai and Csaba Varga.), selections of Hungarian animation schools and studios. Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation

En 2002, l’Association internationale du film d’animation (Asifa) lançait la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation pour commémorer la première projection publique du Théâtre optique d’Émile Reynaud à Paris, au Musée Grévin, le 28 octobre 1892.

Outre les différents groupes nationaux de l’Asifa (présents dans une trentaine de pays) qui célèbrent cette journée mondiale, l’Asifa invite tous les amoureux de l’animation à se joindre à cette célébration en organisant des projections, des ateliers d’initiation, en montant une exposition, une démonstration technique…

Cette célébration est une occasion unique de mettre la lumière sur le cinéma d’animation, un art qui connaît un engouement sans précédent dans le monde, mais dont la diffusion reste encore restreinte et donc difficile d’accès pour une grande partie du public.

Cette année, la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation se tiendra dans 42 pays différents à travers le monde. Pour la première fois le Burkina Faso, le Cameroun, le Mozambique et la Pologne vont participer.

Certains pays on considérablement développé la célébration et l’on étendue à plusieurs villes et plusieurs jours, particulièrement en France et au Brésil, mais aussi au Canada, en Hongrie, en Inde, en Israël, au Portugal, an Suède et aux Etats-Unis.

L’initiative de l’Asifa de mettre en place en 2005 un système d’échange de programmes entre pays participants est devenu opérationnel et a pris de l’ampleur. Cette année, 26 programmes gratuits différents ont été proposés, venant d’Argentine, du Brésil, de Chine, de Corée, d’Estonie, de France, de Hongrie, d’Israël, du Japon, de Pologne, du Portugal, de Russie, de Suède et des Etats-Unis.

C’est un grand pas en avant pour le développement de la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation.

Le 29 octobre, Lola Kenya Screen organisera une projection spéciale, lors du Lola Kenya Screen Film Foum, à l’Institut Gpethe de Nairobi.

Buenos Aires

L’ACAA (ASIFA Argentine) célèbrera la Journée mondiale le 9 novembre, pour commémorer la projection à Buenos Aires du premier long métrage d’animation au monde, réalisé en 1917 par Quirino Cristani.

L’ACAA rendra hommage au réalisateur, en organisant des rencontres, interviews avec des professionnels et des amateurs et en projetant des courts et longs métrages durant trois jours, du 9 au 11 novembre, à Buenos Aires, à l’Ecole de l’art du multimédia Da Vinci et au Centre culturel Rojas.

Les évènements cette année en Inde s’étendront une semaine entière. Le 21, une projection et une présentation des récompenses des meilleurs films d’animation indiens, se déroulera au Centre national des arts vivants à Mumbay. Les événement en Israël débuteront le 24 octobre à l’académie des arts de Bezalel, à Jérusalem, avec une rencontre avec le réalisateur indépendant canadien, Sharon Katz, avec aussi la projection de films du festival Re-Animajcia de Lodz, du programme Afca-Asifa France et le programme des nouveaux films d’animation chinois.

D’autres séances se dérouleront dans différents endroits, dont des cinémathèques et écoles d’animations, à Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Jerusalem, Negev et Herzliya.

A partir du 17 octobre et pour presque quatre semaines, Asifa Japon, en collaboration avec le Festival international d’animation de Hiroshima, organisera des célébrations dans trois différentes villes : Okinawa le 24, neuf lieux à Hiroshima entre le 17 octobre et le 10 novembre, dont la bibliothèque du cinéma et de l’audiovisuel de Hiroshima, ainsi que les diverses mairies d’arrondissement de la ville et le 2 et 3 novembre, à l’école de graphisme d’Osaka.

JORDANIE (Amman)

La société Abu Mahjoob et la commission royale du film proposeront à la télévision jordanienne une présentation de la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation et de l’industrie de l’animation en Jordanie et dans le reste du monde. La télévision jordanienne proposera aussi des films d’animation tout au long de la journée.

CROATIE (Zagreb)

Le 3 novembre, Asifa Croatie présentera « Le Jour de l’animation croate » au Cinéma du centre de Zagreb. Au programme, des films réalisés par des enfants et des adolescents en 2006 et 2007, des films de fin d’études, les films professionnels en 2006 et 2007, la remise d’une récompense spéciale pour la contribution à l’animation croate, la remise de récompenses aux meilleurs films, leur projection et pour terminer, une petite fête.

Le jury, composé de trois membres (un réalisateur, un animateur et un critique de films) décideront des prix (Grand prix, 1^er et 2^nd prix).

Avant cet événement consacré à l’animation croate, Asifa Croatie organisera au Zagreb Film Club, une projection des programmes d’Asifa Japon et Asifa Corée.

Du 17 au 30 octobre, la France célébrera l’animation dans l’ensemble du pays, y compris en Martinique et à la Réunion. Jean-François Laguionie sera l’invité d’honneur de la manifestation, voyageant dans 14 villes différentes pour présenter ses films. Il y aura aussi d’autres invités, comme Serge Elissalde, Florence Miailhe, Michel Ocelot, Raoul Servais, Priit Pärn, Sébastien Laudenbach, Jean-Jacques Prunès, etc. présents dans différentes régions en Farnce. Il y aura aussi 15 réalisateurs ou producteurs néerlandais, à l’occasion d’une grande rétrospective au Centre Georges Pompidou (Beaubourg), à Paris. Nous célébrerons le 28 octobre à Beaubourg, avec une séance consacrée à Jean-François Laguionie. Michel Ocelot, Mathilde Philipon-Aginski, Hoël Caouissin, Izu Troin et Florence Miailhe seront invités à choisir un film de leur choix, pour l’offrir au célèbre réalisateur.

La Célébration sera aussi l’occasion de nombreuses projections, conférences, expositions, ateliers et rétrospectives, dont une, à Paris, consacrée aux studios d’animation de Shanghai (avec plus de 30 films).

GRECE (Athènes)

Pour célébrer la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation 2007, Syllipsis inaugure une série de flipbook intitulée « Pocket Cinem », débutant avec la réalisation du premier flipbook jamais fabriqué en Grèce, combinant le dessin et la pixilation. Le flipbook ainsi créé par le dessinateur Aristarchos Papadaniel est intitulé « Syllipsi » et représente un personnage dénomé Telis.

Le 27 octobre, la librairie Ianos à Athènes projettera le premier film d’animation grec, « Dutse Recalls » (1945), réalisé par le famoux caricaturiste Stamatis Polenekis, le film sera accompagné d’une composition musicale originale écrite par Dimitris Maramis.

Le 28 octobre, sur la radio « 902 Aristera sta FM », Aristarchos est invité par le chanteur Thanasis Chouliaras et l’auteur Fanis Magaronis, (membres du groupe « Ftino Evelikto Mousiko Dinamiko (FEMD) » pour un hommage aux chansons et aux musiques de films d’animation, des années 20 à nos jours.

HONGRIE

Asifa Hongrie organisera la célébration dans 9 endroits, 4 cinémas, des écoles d’art, dans la capitale hongroise, dans la ville de Debrecen et dans 3 autres villes en Transylvanie, en tout 73 projections. Seront projetés les programmes d’Asifa Corée, Asifa Japon, le programme des nouveaux films chinois, Afca-Asifa France de l’École La Poudrière, Black and Night films Festival d’Estonie, ReAnimacia Festival de Pologne, Asifa Hongrie et celui d’Asifa Iran. La première projection du 10 Octobre rendra hommage à Jiri Trnka and Jiri Brdecka. « Les nouveaux films d’animations slovaques », seront présentés le 23 Octobre en coopération avec la Biennale d’animation de Bratislava. Puis la journée du 29 Octobre sera consacrée à l’un des plus important réalisateur tchèque de films d’animation, Jiri Brdecka. Enfin, le 30 Octobre à Bratislava, la dernière projection des « Contes de fée tchèques » sera présenté par la Biennale d’animation de Bratislava, en coopération avec la NFA.

ROUMANIE

Pendant Anim’est festival de Bucarest, le réalisateur Mihai Badica a présentera ses films au public.

Le 28 octobre les étudiants de L’Académie de Théâtre et Cinéma de Bucarest, recevront à l’occasion de la journée internationale de cinéma d’animation, la visite de M. Jean-Claude Palluau de la France, pour parler d’Emile Cohl, le premier réalisateur de film d’animation.

Le 30 et 31 octobre, à Ucin seront organisés des projections qui incluent deux nouveaux courts métrages roumains, le programme d’Asifa Iran et une autre du Royaume Uni.

SLOVENIE (Izola)

De 26 à 28 octobre au centre de la culture, du sport et du loisir Izola art cinema Odeon, se déroulera le Festival Slovène de Cinéma d’Animation Izolanima. Le festival fêtera la journée Mondiale du Cinéma d’Animation avec un atelier en collaboration avec l’école de cinéma Zlin (République Tchèque), une sélection de films d’animation européens « Un dessin animé pour chaque enfant» et le 28, une fête avec divers films de pays différents.

SUEDE

Le 28 octobre la nouvelle association des animateurs suédois a mis ensemble un programme varié de seize nouveaux films d’animation. Le programme mélange des films professionnels et films d’études produits récemment. Ce programme sera projeté dans 9 villes du pays : Stockholm, Eksjö, Malmö, Fellingsbro, Lund, Eskilstuna, Göteborg, Sundsvall et Östersund.

In 2006, a system of program exchanges has been created to help participants put together culturally diverse animation programs from around the world. Some ASIFA chapters have planned free programs on DVD (Bulgaria, France, Hungary, Israel, Japan and USA Atlanta) and some programs have also been proposed from countries without ASIFA chapters (Argentina, Brazil and Portugal). This will definitely be a great benefit for the development of International Animation Day.

India The 28th of October, in Tata Theatre, National Centre for the Performing Arts at Mumbai (Bombay), ASIFA India and TASI (The Animation Society of India), will organize several events. Kicking off the celebration will be the Arts Mela, a 3 hour long free flow banquet of screenings, interactive sessions and animation art. The screenings will take place in multiple mini theatre settings, highlighting the finest of Indian and international animation from studios and students. In addition, the best animation from the Gaming industry and the best Indian ad films will be screened. A special showing of the award winning short film, Ryan, from the National Film Board of Canada, will also be screened. Interactive sessions will include Indian Puppet Shows, Claymation/Stop Motion, 3D Animation and 2D Animation. The main auditorium activities will include the world premiere of Maaa, a short film by Animagic for the Children’s Film Society of India. Iran L’ASIFA Iran celebrates the day in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, a bit in advance this year, from October 6th to 8th. It will include screenings of French new animated films, with the co-operation of the French Embassy, two workshops on traditional and new technology in 2D, 3D computer animation, two meetings of three generations of animators, an exhibition of drawing and design for animation from 30 artists, a Media Art non stop screening, a tribute to Mr. N. Karimi one of the pioneers in Animation art and a closing ceremony including awarding Plate of Honor to top artists in different professions of animation. There are some parallel activities in animation held in the provinces as well.

Israel From 27th of October to 28th of November, Co-ordinated by ASIFA Israel, nine different places will celebrate International Animation Day, in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa, in screening 19 different programs including Among the Thorns, Lotta and Uzi Geffenblad, the documentary Pace of Peace, the French animation graduation showcase, The Moon and the Sun by John Canemaker, the Portuguese House of Animation’s Program and an International selection of short films.

Czech Republic On the 24th and 25th of October at the Ponrepo Cinema, in Prague, the National Film Archive of Prague will present two programs : at first, a Russian program nammed Russian Impression, composed by films from the beginning of Russian animation, with also some Alexandre Alexeieff and Youri Norstein’s short films. France Two full weeks on célébrations in France (October 18-31). Our guest of honor this year is filmmaker Florence Miailhe. During the fifteen days, she will present her films in different cities throughout the country. We will have an exhibition of her work in Paris where, on October 28th, Miailhe will have carte blanche to present, along with her work, her own special selection of films by her favorite artists. Thanks to the organized efforts of our regional co-ordinators throughout France, we have succeeded in planning almot 300 events. En 2002, l’Association internationale du film d’animation (Asifa) lançait la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation pour commémorer la première projection publique du Théâtre optique d’Émile Reynaud à Paris, au Musée Grévin, le 28 octobre 1892.

Outre les différents groupes nationaux de l’Asifa (présents dans une trentaine de pays) qui célèbrent cette journée mondiale, l’Asifa invite tous les amoureux de l’animation à se joindre à cette célébration en organisant des projections, des ateliers d’initiation, en montant une exposition, une démonstration technique…

Cette célébration est une occasion unique de mettre la lumière sur le cinéma d’animation, un art qui connaît un engouement sans précédent dans le monde, mais dont la diffusion reste encore restreinte et donc difficile d’accès pour une grande partie du public.

Cette année, la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation se tiendra dans 49 pays différents à travers le monde. Pour la première fois des pays aussi culturellement divers que la Colombie, le Chili, le Paraguay, l’Uruguay, l’Estonie, la Turquie, le Liban, la Grèce, Cuba, l’Italie, la Chine et la Russie vont participer. Au Brésil, au Canada, en Finlande, en Inde, en Iran, en Israël, au Japon, en Espagne et aux États-Unis, il y aura plusieurs jours de célébration, dans différents lieux. La manifestation durera deux semaines en France et un mois entier à Beijing en Chine (Institut français). L’initiative de l’Asifa de mettre en place un système d’échange de programmes entre pays participants est devenu opérationnel et a pris de l’ampleur. Certains de ses groupes ont proposé des programmes gratuits en DVD (Bulgarie, France, Hongrie, Israël, Japon, USA Atlanta), mais des programmes parviennent aussi de pays sans groupes Asifa (Argentine, Brésil et Portugal). C’est un grand pas en avant pour le développement de la Journée mondiale du cinéma d’animation.

AFRIQUE

Algérie Le 6 et le 7 novembre, l’association Patrimoine et l’Institut français organiseront une conference sur Paul Grimault avec M. Jean-Pierre Pagliano et le programme de films de fin d’études français sera projeté dans 4 villes différentes.

Ghana Entre le 21 et le 27 octobre, à Accra, le Nafti (Institut national du film et de la télévision) organisera la seconde édition de la Fête de l’animation africaine.

Maroc Le 28 et le 30 octobre, l’Institut français de Meknès, organisateur du Festival international du cinéma d’animation de Meknès (Ficam), organisera des projections des longs métrages français La Prophétie des grenouilles de Jacques-Rémy Girerd et de Kaena, la prophétie de Chris Delaporte et Pascal Pinon, ainsi qu’un atelier d’initiation avec le réalisateur de film d’animation marocain et enseignant Said Bouftass.

Sénégal Le Festival du film de quartier de Dakar présentera le programme français de films de fin d’études.

AMERIQUES

Argentine Le 27 octobre, au Centre culturel espagnol, le Festival international d’animation de Cordoba « Anima », organisera la projection d’une sélection de films d’animation des trois premières éditions du festival, ainsi que le programme de films de fin d’études français. A Villa Maria (Etat de Cordoba), en collaboration avec le collectif d’artistes DestilArte Project, le festival Anima organisera aussi la projection d’une sélection d’écoles d’animation de l’UNC et de l’UNVM. http://www.animafestival.com.ar/

Bolivie A l’atelier d’animation Demiurgo, projection d’une sélection de films d’étudiants, d’un panel de productions récentes de Nicobis (un producteur qui a développé l’animation en Bolivie) et de Emeterio(1965), premier long métrage d’animation bolivien. à l’occasion de leur 25e anniversaire, et deux longs métrages des studios Ghibli, en collaboration avec l’Ambassade du Japon.

Chili Le 24 octobre, La Cinéthèque de la Pontifique Université Catholique de Valparaiso organisera deux conférences, l’une de Jaime Cañas Lemesch et l’autre de Carlos Sespedes Aravena et projettera le programme de films de fin d’études français, des étudiants de l’université de Cordoba en Argentine, deux compilations de courts métrages et le documentaire Magia Russica. http://www.flipfestival.org/

Colombie A l’université nationale de Colombie, l’université Jorge Tadeo Lozano et l’université Los Libertadores, Asifa Colombie organisera plusieurs projections (dont le programme de films de fin d’études français), des conferences et un forum.

Cuba L’École internationale du film et de la télévision de la Havane organisera une semaine entière consacrée à l’animation contemporaine à l’école et à San Antonio de los Baños. En parallèle, se déroulera un atelier d’initiation et une conférence de plus grand collectionneur de films d’animation du pays.

Asifa San Francisco Asifa San Francisco a demandé à David Andrews, ancien directeur à ILM, de presenter une conference illustrée sur la creation de personages animés dans les longs métrage. Il a évoqué les différentes formes de jeu des personages, à un large public d’étudiants, de professionnels et de public divers, à l’Université d’Etat de Califormie. Paraguay Le 15e festival international du film d’ Asunción (5 au 26 octobre) a célébré l’animation en projetant 7 longs métrages d’animation : Waking Life, Le Château ambulant, Le Chien, le général et les oiseaux, Le Roi et l’oiseau, La Prophétie des grenouilles, l’Ile de Black Mor, Les Triplettes de Belleville et plus de 30 courts métrages venus du Brésil, du Mexique, de l’Argentine, du Chili, de République tchèque et des Etats-Unis. Chine Le Centre culturel français de Beijing présentera durant tout le mois d’octobre un vaste panorama de l’animation française contemporaine, en présence de Christian Volckman, réalisateur deRenaissance. Au programme, présentation de trois programmes de courts métrages et de six longs métrages (Renaissance, Kirikou et la sorcière, La Prophétie des grenouilles, Les Triplettes de Belleville, Kaena la prophétie), avec en point d’orgue une journée non stop, le 28 octobre, à la Cinémathèque chinoise. www.ccfpekin.org/cinema
