Basic concept of ASIFA's cooperation with Animation Festivals

Conditions for Animation Festivals to be listed in ASIFA's media In this document ASIFA describes the basic conditions a festival must fullfill to enter our Festival Information System. These conditions are set up in the spirit: to protect the interests of the filmmakers to let only the 'good festivals' take part  Quality Criteria for Animation Festivals In this document ASIFA lists the quality criteria, which will be included in our Festival Information System. Some points will be "objective data", like numbers or certain informations, other aspects will have to be described. The sense of all that is, that the visitor of our homepage may get in depth information about the festivals on our list, and find help in her/his decision, where to send her/his films. The ASIFA Board decided to step back from any kind of rating system, as the definition of quality - beyond certain minimal conditions - always will depend on the subjective interests of the person, who looks at a festival.  The ASIFA Festival Information System One can say, that the "Festival Information System" has already started to exist on this homepage, it just needs to be expanded. If you click on 'Festival List' below, you will find the addresses of international animation festivals. Each festival is described by a "festival profile" - these profile will have to be enlarged by giving all the information enumerated in the "Quality Criteria" document. This will need the cooperation of the festivals and the voluntary work of many ASIFA members.  ASIFA Parnter Festivals The expression "ASIFA Partner Festival" simply explains, that a festival and ASIFA have decided to help and promote each other. It does not say that the particular festival is better of worse then others.
