>>> ASIFA in Annecy Open ASIFA Meeting, Wednesday, 6th June, 2001, 10:00 - 13:30 The ASIFA Board of Directors is inviting all representatives of ASIFA National groups and individual members to attend the open ASIFA meeting to be held on Wednesday, 6th June, 2001, from 10:00 a.m to 1:30 p.m. in the Jumel Room - Quai des Clarisses (close to the salle Pierre Lamy). All ASIFA members and prospective members are invited to attend and take an active role in the worldwide animation community. ASIFA Booth in the festival lobby Dear ASIFA members, dear animators and animation fans, please visit the ASIFA booth at the Bonlieu Centre. You can find there all information about ASIFA as well as see and purchase the artworks, books, tapes, postcards etc. by prominent artists - ASIFA members. ASIFA Animation Art Auction During the festival, the ASIFA booth will hold a silent auction of original animation art works from famous animators, including Bill Plympton (MUTANT ALIENS, in competion), Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis (WHEN THE DAY BREAKS, Annecy grand prix 1999), Georges Schwizgebel (past Annecy juror and exhibition artist), Don Hertzfeldt (REJECTED, in panorama and Oscar nominee) and other brilliant animators. All proceeds will go toward the ASIFA production fund to finance new animation collaborations by ASIFA members. Please come to the ASIFA booth and make a bid on your favorite piece of art! The ASIFA Booth is located at the entrance of the room Eugene Verdun and will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. SAKE PARTY Sayoko Kinoshita, director of the Hiroshima Animation Festival, invites to her traditional and most exciting SAKE PARTY, which will be hold this year in cooperation with ASIFA. One of the highlights will be the lottery under the unique direction of Sayoko, you can again win a lot of Hiroshima festivals souvenirs and some nice gadgets, which international ASIFA members will bring from their countries. As always there will be - of course SAKE - and Japanese food and crackers. Don't miss that fabulous social event, it's fun and you will definitely keep in memory. New edition of ASIFA News At ANNECY 2001 Chris Robinson, the new editor of our printed magazine ASIFA NEWS will bring a package of the latest edition.
