Proposal for a new organisational structure of ASIFA:
...by Thomas Renoldner

When I accepted to run for the position of ASIFA's presidency, I declared already before the decision of the ASIFA Board, that it would be one of my main interests to modernise ASIFA's organisational structure.

In the meanwhile the ASIFA Board has started to discuss the issue, I have published a letter in our printed magazine about, and there has been an Open ASIFA Meetings at ZAGREB 2002 discussing the proposal. (I do not want to call it "my proposal", because in fact the Italian ASIFA Group has made a similar proposal eight years ago, and I have discussed 'my proposal' with numerous international ASIFA people, before putting it on paper...)

Facing the numerous positive reactions I think the time has come to move forward.
To change ASIFA's statutes it is necessary to hold an Extraordinary General Assembly , and there we should collect at least one half of the voices of our ASIFA members. (One third would also be sufficient, but then the Assembly must be hold one day later.)

In order to prepare such an Extraordinary ASIFA Assembly, I publish the actual form of my proposal at asifa.net/new.structure.
I ask all ASIFA Members and ASIFA Group Presidents to initiate discussions about locally, and to give feedback.
You can write to me at president@asifa.net, you can give a copy of your e-mails to ASIFA General Secretariat secretary@asifa.net, and you are invited to use our Discussion Forum, which has been installed specially for this issue.
You will find the report in the [ COMMUNICATION ZONE ] at | New Structure Proposal | or you can click here.
